THE AIM OF THIS PROJECT

Young people usually think that important people are only described in their history books as a consequence they are unaware of the richness of values and models in their lands and countries. The bilateral project could be the occasion to know more about the students’ land, its recent history and the men and women who have left something important in terms of choice of life and in values.  The project can make students understand habits, traditions and models of behaviour of their country and of the partner country. The main objective for the new friends is to understand that wherever you are the great reasons of the heart are the same. Students start with researches on important person of the area in the recent past it will lead students to some research activities and make them experience personally the meeting with models. Through comparing values, actions, choices of life the students will understand how national men or women can become international. Using global education methods the project will highlight national history and culture, habits and make students understand the culture of the partner country.

The project is meant to develop students’ understanding of other European countries, to improve their abilities to work with the new media and use English in connection with writing about facts. It turned out that our students can become really creative and ready to act very effectively when working in an international cooperation. For a vast majority of students project work is the only way to visit foreign countries and discover their culture not only from books or the media but from personal experience. A community website that will be set up for students to exchange their views and share their opinions also motivates students activity in the project. It is also essential to deepen our students’ knowledge about global education methods. The project gives students the opportunity to experience working with peers from another country and culture and the acceptance of others. We intend to arouse students' interest in their country, in their history and in their civilization.
